Description

Clean in Place (CIP) vessels are commonly used for cleaning bioreactors, fermenters, mix vessels, and other equipment used in biotech manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing and food and beverage manufacturing. CIP is performed to remove or obliterate remaining cell culture batch components. It is also used to remove in-process residues, control bioburden and reduce endotoxin levels within processing equipment and systems. Residue removal is accomplished during CIP with a combination of heat, chemical action, and turbulent flow. CIP vessels allow the internal elements of processing equipment to be cleaned without being dis-assembled. Tubes, filters, pipes and other elements of the equipment are thoroughly washed out and sanitised between batches and down-time at the facility is minimised for this process. In order to adequately clean processing equipment, the equipment must be designed with smooth stainless-steel surfaces and interconnecting piping that has cleanable joints These vessels ensure that cleaning is faster, and cycles can be repeated quickly after they have been cleaned and sanitised. Spectac International manufactures CIP vessels according to customer requirements and each one is fitted with PLC (programmable logic controllers) Controls for efficient, automated management of the cleaning process.
