Distilling vessels can handle a variety of materials, many of which are highly corrosive. It is for this reason that we use Stainless Steel T–316L where appropriate, which is a very high quality material that gives the vessel true longevity, that can last up to 40 years.
Distilling vessels can be cleaned by an automated CIP Unit, which Spectac International can also supply.
Examples of our distilling vessels include:
•Hot Liquor vessels
•Washback vessels
•Hot Spent wash and Lees vessel
•Spirit receiver
•Cast filling tank
•Malt silo
•Intermediate receiver
Hot liquor vessels can hold liquid that’s up to 80 – 90° so the quality of these products has to be first-class. They are usually insulated and cladded for energy efficiency and safety.
The washback vessel, the hot spent vessel and the lees vessel are holding vessels used in the distilling process and the alcohol is transferred to a spirit receiver once it has been produced. A cast filling tank is then used to hold the spirit before it is filled into barrels to be matured.
Malt silos are used by breweries and distillers to handle larger volumes than free standing tanks. Also, in most cases, the ratio between height and diameter is much higher. They can be installed both indoors and outdoors and can be insulated and cladded as required.
Spectac International designs and manufactures each vessels using a flexible approach, specialist engineering expertise and high-quality manufacturing processes.
