The radial plain bearing GLM may be used in the headstock with an open housing. They are adjustable by nature and hence they can be directly mounted in the headstock bores. Axial guiding is provided between GLM which adjusted for correct play. It is tightened using a Spieth Locknut opposite to the spindle end. The sealing against the oil loss is done by the V-rings.
It can be used with the work-piece spindle head in addition closed housing and bearing flange sleeve. The 2 GLM bearing are mounted in bearing flange sleeves in order to achieve radial guidance in the stable spindle head design. A spindle collar located outside the GLM bearing, on the working side is used to prove axial guidance. The assembly play between bearing flange sleeve on the side of the spindle drive and housing borehole is eliminated using the Spieth clamping set.
