SPRESCAN SAW 3D-T was specifically developed for the measurement of transversely conveyed logs before sawing.
The system supports as many distance sensors as required. Usually, the lasers are installed above the transversely conveyed logs. For more accurate results, additional lasers can also be installed below.
The sensors scan semi-circular contours of each log. These contour parts are then transferred to a PC which further on calculates the complete contour of the log by interpolation.
Afterwards, the user faces a three-dimensional model of the log. Therefore, all relevant log properties can be calculated such as diameter of log top, middle and stump as well as volume, tapering and curvature.
In addition to the standard software, Sprecher Automation also offers a customer-specific optimisation software for the calculation of the optimum log position for sawing.
