This system consists of a vulcanised elastomer flap which has been pre-stressed during the moulding operation.
If there is no product present, due to the vacuum effect under the cyclone or filter, the two opposite surfaces of the membrane join together, making an airtight seal.
Once a certain quantity of material is collected in the Obturator, the load applied to the membrane eventually frees the product gathered in its lower part, and the membrane closes up again as soon as the minimum load is reached.
The quality of elastomer used is a safety feature which ensures in every situation a perfectly airtight seal, even after a certain amount of wear of the surfaces in contact with the product being ejected.
The design of the Obturator ensures an airtight seal at the opening of the diaphragm which prevents air from entering the system through the Obturator opening.
The use of Obturators prevents clogging problems, which are inherent in certain powdery materials.
Rubber Obturators are moulded and hot vulcanised in high capacity presses, in our workshops.
Strict controls during the manufacturing process ensure the quality of our Obturators.
