The Setastill Distillation unit is a bench-top instrument used to carry out atmospheric distillation of petroleum products and liquid fuels to determine boiling range characteristics.
The unit can distil samples from ambient temperature up to 400 °C and consists of an electrically heated distillation enclosure with a cooling fan and an integral condenser.
The steel distillation enclosure houses the distillation flask which is supported by a drop-in ceramic support board (accessory) mounted to a platform that is adjustable for height.
Features
• Three way heat / fan switch
• Adjustable height platform
• Toughened glass window
• Ceramic glass flask support boards
• High efficiency quartz tube heaters with gold reflectors
• Observation window
• Optional back lighting unit for receiver
• Optional blower fan for cool-down after tests
Feature information
Quartz enclosed heating elements are also attached to the platform, and are powered by a solid-state energy regulator and calibrated control. A cooling fan is installed in the rear of the distillation unit to reduce cooling time between distillations. A spillage collection tray with outlet is mounted beneath the heaters.
The condenser unit is attached to the distillation unit, and may be used with either a static fill of coolant or a laboratory cooling supply. Housed within the condenser unit is a thermally-insulated, stainless steel coolant tank, fitted with a permanently installed condenser tube. A drain tap and an overflow outlet are mounted on the rear of the unit.
