In order for the electrical current to be transferred from the catenary wire to the railway vehicle preferably without any interruptions, the pantograph has to work with the same contact force on the catenary wire at all speeds. A minimised force can lead to contact interferences, too much contact force can lead to an increased friction - and therefore, to increased wear.
The electric-pneumatic control system of our open loop system provides for a consistent contact force of the pantograph on the overhead line at all driving speeds. All pantograph types of our DSA series can be subsequently optimised with this system.
System advantages
Increase of the travelling speed on old tracks
Improved contact quality
Less arc loads
Less wear
Reduction of the noise level
Reduction of the measuring and optimisation efforts
