Description

Static crystallization is a process using vertical plates, heated or cooled by an internal circulation of heat transfer medium (HTM). The plates are suspended in the molten feed. Slow cooling of the HTM below the freezing point of the stagnant melt causes a layer of crystals to grow on the plates PROCESS SHEET The Static melting crystallizer makes a static molten mixture crystallization, sweating and melting on the surface of the Plate coil plates in stages, ultimately purifying one or more products from the mixture. lt is also called Plate coil solvent-free crystallizer because no solvent is used in the crystallization and purifying process. The Static melting crystallizer innovatively uses Plate coil plates as heat transfer elements and inherently has advantages that conventional separation technologies do not have. MIAN ADVANTAGES • Easy and safe scale-up since your crystallizer consists of the same modular plate elements • Easy operation, since there is no crystal slurry handling and no filtration • Environmentally safe process due to inert gas blanketing and the absence of solvents • Melt crystallization is an appealing option for your heat sensitive products, because of low operating temperatures • A high yield can be achieved, even for viscous products.
