QICPIC & GRADIS/L is suitable for the analysis of very coarse particles and sample quantities up to the kilogram range as well as for products that do not require high dispersion forces, such as crystals, sand or granulates.
The image analysis sensor QICPIC offers reliable analysis of particle size and shape distributions in the range of 5 - 10,000 µm with the GRADIS/L dry disperser.
A pulsed LED optically freezes the moving particles with exposure times in the nanosecond range, while a high-resolution, high-speed camera captures the particle projections in sharp detail at a frequency of up to 500 frames per second.
The drop chute of the GRADIS/L causes only minimal dispersion, but controls the speed at which the particles are present in the laser beam.
The sample is fed by the VIBRI vibratory feeder. The controllable vibratory feeder conveys the sample evenly and independently of the loading into the drop chute. The GRADIS/L is operated with an aspirator for particle collection, which also generates a laminar flow. However, if necessary, the sample can also be collected for further use after analysis. The width of the outlet slot on the drop shaft can be manually adjusted to 0.5 | 1 | 2 | 4 or 10 mm to guide the particles within the imaging range of the respective measuring range objectives.
The measurement and dosing parameters are controlled via the PAQXOS software, which enables the simultaneous determination of all relevant size and shape parameters.
