HELOS & OASIS/L: The hybrid system for alternating wet and dry particle size analysis in the laboratory. The HELOS laser diffraction sensor in combination with OASIS/L characterizes particle size distributions in the range of 0.1 - 875 µm. OASIS/L combines the powerful RODOS/L dry disperser with the proven SUCELL/L wet disperser in a compact housing. In dry measurement with RODOS/L, the sample is passed through the measuring zone by compressed air in an aerosol free jet. The separated particles are collected in the extraction unit after analysis. The patented combination of measuring range, dosing and dispersion allows a fast, product-specific and reproducible particle size analysis. The SUCELL/L wet dispersion system is suitable for wet measurement requirements in the sample circuit. The sample is filled into a stainless steel basin and homogenized by two stirrers. The suspension is then pumped by a peristaltic pump through a stainless steel flow-through cuvette and returned to the basin. If required, the intergrated ultrasonic unit assists with dispersion. The measuring, dispersing and dosing characteristics are controlled by the PAQXOS software, which allows the simultaneous determination of all relevant size parameters.
