The new Firestar i401 laser offers near-perfect beam quality of 400 watts. Also, the beam is emitted from a single tube. It is built with a hybrid waveguide/unstable resonator design and comes with four field replaceable, integrated RF modules. This feature gives it rise time of less than 100 µs. This is actually 33% faster than the rise time of the existing f-Series lasers. Internal beam conditioning takes place prior to the output aperture first conditions and collimates. It will then rotate the linear beam at a polarization of 45°. It is thus suitable in applications where a circular polarizer is required.
This product operates at duty cycles ranging from < 10% to 100% at full CW operation. Its energy efficiency is up to 23 percent better than other 400 W lasers. These lasers help in cost reduction and allow easy mounting. The product is up to 24% lighter than comparable products.
