CFast pSLC flash memory with a SATA II interface for fast data transfers
-----
With its CFast units from the 245S series, Cactus Technologies offers durable, fast memory cards. The solid state drives are based on the pSLC (Pseudo-Single-Level Cell) technology. In these systems, the MLC-NAND cells (Multi-Level Cell) are run as SLC (Single-Level Cells), i.e. they only store one bit per flash cell, instead of the usual two bits. As a result, they reach up to six times more write cycles (i.e. higher write endurance) than regular MLC systems do.
The Cactus Technologies CFast flash memory cards from the 245S series boast an SATA II interface with a reading speed of 350 megabytes per second and a writing speed of 310 megabytes per second. The high functional reliability of the pSLC drives is guaranteed by ECC (Error Correction Code), Wear Leveling and Defect Management. Cactus further offers BOM (Bill-of-Material) Control.
