The RML Compact 81 marks the highest possible level of expansion of the Syslogic railway computers. Like all railway computers, the RML Compact 81 meets the highest shock and vibration requirements thanks to its uncompromising mechanical design and M12 threaded plug-in connectors. It is EN50155, class TX certified and thus withstands temperatures of -40 to +85 °C at the component level. Furthermore, the CPU boards are protected against condensation by the conformal coating and the housing meets protection class IP40.
The railway computer RML Compact 81 is frequently used in driver assistance systems. Its powerful Apollo Lake processor platform makes it suitable for CPU-intensive applications. In addition, the railway computer is equipped with an integrated ignition controller and a disturbance-free CAN interface. For CAN interface support, well-known CAN drivers such as SocketCAN, LinCAN or CAN protocols such as CAN-J1939 and CANopen are pre-installed on the operating systems. Yet another feature enables activation of CAN read-only (passive CAN), which is frequently used in data loggers. The interfaces include USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, Ethernet, RS232, RS422 and RS485 as well as a CFast socket. Also included by default is the radio connection with WiFi, LTE, GPS and Bluetooth.
The interface diversity combined with the modern processors as well as outstanding robustness and longevity make the RML Compact 81 the ideal rolling stock computer.
