The Link-Belt Travelling Type "Through-Flow" Water Screen manufactured by TARNOS consists of a series of overlapping, inclined screen trays constructed to offer the minimum practical obstruction to free passage of water within the width of the screen well.
The head section is an enclosed frame furnished complete with a spray system and a drive unit. The design of our Through Flow Screen does not employ a foot shaft.
Intake water is entering the travelling band screen through the mesh panels (trays), depositing suspended and floating debris on the screen cloth of the inclined trays. The lower members of the tray, which form a shelf, elevate large quantities of solid matter up to the head section.
At the head section, debris is removed by a high pressure spray sweeping across the back of the screen trays. The debris is washed into a chute located in front of the trays at the head section, and is flushed away for disposal.
Existing thru-flow screen installations can be retrofitted or converted to a dual-flow screen application. This conversion is accomplished by the installation of a curved flow diverter plate and dual-flow screen combination.
