Zeus is the innovative concept from Tecnomatic for the series of L/D 37 extruders. It consists in a gearless version, which differs from other offers available in the market, for several relevant solution in terms of energy saving and performance.
Thanks to the important developments in the torque motors technology, for reliability and efficiency, this solution was selected in order to assure outstanding saving in the production of plastic pipes. The pipe extrusion process is highly dependent on electricity and most of the energy used is directly related to machine operation. The energy used to drive the extruder itself is over 50% of the total and the remaining energy is used for items such as ancillaries and utilities. Tecnomatic surveys show that a typical company should be able to reduce energy usage by 10% without major capital outlay.
The torque motor in combination with a new feeding section and a further optimized screw design is decreasing the power consumption with results up to 14% (compared to a gearbox traditional extruder). To complete, a water cooled frequency controller and a new control touch screen, with measuring modules for monitoring energy consumption in combination with gravimetric weight system during production, are featuring the Zeus extruder.
