The Optical Parametric Oscillator (OPO) pulsed source combines a wide spectral tunability, from 7.5 to 13µm (or 3 to 5µm upon request), with a very narrow linewidth, down to 100MHz.
With the optional Optical Parametric Amplifier (OPA) stage, the source reaches a peak power as high as 100W with an energy of 4µJ per pulse.
Its SLM (Single Longitudinal Mode) output features a kHz repetition rate and a few tens of ns of pulse duration.
The OPO source’s main applications includes LIDAR remote gas detection in the whole LWIR or MWIR spectral region.
It was tested under severe conditions on the field: implemented in a LIDAR system, the OPO source allowed to detect succsessfully different toxic gases at 300m distance.
