Description

Packing composed of a unique carbon yarn with discontinuous metallic micro-reinforcement. Compared to packing 4137 it has a lower percentage of carbon. Impregnation is carried out in three stages: on individual yarns plus graphite paste with corrosion inhibitors, then on the packing body and on the surface with particles and flakes of very fine graphite. It is a packing with excellent spring-back and excellent extrusion resistance. It is suitable as a seal on valves and especially where long-lasting resistance to high temperatures is required. It cannot be used with strong oxidants. Applications In the presence of high temperatures, on valve stems, suitable for the chemical and petrochemical industries, power stations and nuclear power stations and refineries.
