Description

Silicone has very good high- and low-temperature behavior, good weather and chemical resistance and physiological properties. Its mechanical properties are, however, limited. Silicone is suitable for use in a temperature range between -55°C and +210°C because its mechanical properties are nearly constant over the entire temperature range (special qualities up to +250°C as well as to -100°C). With respect to the required cross-linking temperatures, distinctions are made primarily between: Cold cross-linked silicone rubber(RTV = room-temperature vulcanization) Hot cross-linked silicone rubber (HTV = high-temperature vulcanization) Options with FDA-approved components are also available.
