Hand Abrasion Testing
Abrasion marks on the surface - caused by the human hand - are the main reason for perception of poor quality of a product.
Hand abrasion is a very complex chemical and mechanical stress on the surface. The TRIBOTOUCH simulates this stress under real conditions according to international standards.
Principle
Hand abrasion is a very complex chemical and mechanical combination. The impact of the hand (finger) on the surface leads to a local mechanical crushing, followed by a friction movement. The visco-elastic material properties of the human hand, in combination with the rough and structured surface of the skin, cause high abrasion potential. In addition, hand perspiration or hand cream creates an aggressive chemical environment. This friction movement of the hand on the surface can cause (too) high stress on the surface of a product.
Because in real life, it's not always 20°C!
The TRIBOTOUCH Clime tests specimens at temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. The compact design and new features take hand abrasion testing to a new level.
