15-5 stainless steel is a martensitic precipitation-hardening alloy known for its high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good mechanical properties. 15-5 PH is widely used in the aerospace, chemical, petrochemical, food processing, paper, and general metalworking industries. It provides high strength, good corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties at temperatures up to about 315°C and good toughness. 15-5 PH is designed to be hardened by heat treatment (solution treatment and aging), and the final hardness is determined by the solution treatment temperature.
