The DS-1000 Dry Salting Unit is developed to dry salt fish fillets directly onto smoking grids. The system is for smokehouses that are dry salting. In a process flow where the producer buys fish fillets from elsewhere, they will be able to lower labour costs by automating the process. The key to lowering the labour costs is to combine the trimming process and the manual process placing the fillets onto smoking grids.
The dosing unit is adjusted so that it applies less salt on the tail of the fillet than on the rest of the fillet. The quantity of salt can be adjusted by use of electronic speed control.
The conveyor belt is designed so that it can be removed sideways for cleaning. In this way the machine is very easy to clean.
The belt has electronic speed control for variable speed. Hereby, the machine can easily be installed into an existing production flow.
The machine requires dry salt and sugar. If the machine is to be placed in a very moist room, it must be built into a cabinet to keep the entire salt dosing unit 100% moisture-free.
The cabinet in the machine is double sealed with heating elements in order to avoid condensation.
