The EM2 optical encoder is exceptionally engineered to deliver efficient services in evaluating and transmitting the position of the rotor in a US Digital code wheel. It is more potent than the EM1 encoder model. Its resolution is twice or four times higher than the EM1.
The encoder comprises a monolithic IC for detection and a lens-equipped LED, encapsulated in a compact polymer casing that is exactly the same as the one used in the EM1. The encoder delivers outstanding services and excellent tolerance rates owing to its incorporation of a phased array detector technology. The advanced technology scores over conventional aperture mask encoders.
The EM2 is equipped with digital quadrature outputs of type A and B, with provision of a third output index route. The encoder incorporates a resolution that is designed to be compatible with the resolution of the code wheel with which it works. It requires a one-time 5V power supply. Its outputs are single ended in nature. The outputs have the ability to source as well as sink a 5mA current.
