Description

U-TIGHTSEAL® is a metal gasket with a built-in elastic core (coil spring). Although it is made of metal, it exhibits properties similar to elastomer (rubber) due to its excellent compression and recovery properties. The shape is a ring with a circular cross section, and the structure consists of a tightly wound elastic core in the center, which is covered with one or two layers of covering. The outer coating is made of a familiar, ductile metal, and the inner coating, in the case of two layers, is made of a relatively hard metal. This product is used in applications such as vacuum and ultra-high vacuum, accelerator facilities, nuclear power, space engineering, and valves, where the use of elastomer O-rings and gaskets is prohibited due to issues such as temperature, corrosion, pressure, radiation, gas release, and durability requirements. Can be used in restricted locations.
