Slotted Microwave Guide Mini (SMGM) Digitalization is increasingly changing workflows and infrastructure in production halls and at large transshipment points. The Internet of Things (IoT) enables machines to communicate autonomously and be operated remotely, which leads to growing amounts of data. While simple transport tasks are often handled via conductor systems with low transmission rates, more complex applications require higher data rates that demand fast and interference-free transmission – even in environments affected by free radio. The SMGM (Slotted Microwave Guide Mini) from VAHLE was developed specifically for such requirements. It offers absolutely interference-free data communication in a shielded aluminum profile that prevents interference from other systems. The plug-and-play solution can be easily integrated into common EHB profiles without extensive configurations. In combination with vPOWER, vPOS and vDRIVE, the SMGM is available as a comprehensive system solution, supported by a customizable service tool.
