A robot fills a matrix of cells with pile yarns supplied from big bobbins. The matrix of cells is filled in an optimal way, with yarn quantities adapted to the design, resulting in a minimum loss of yarn. With the Smart Creel system the conventional creel is replaced with an automated creel equipped with calibrated robot heads going from bin to bin, filling sets of bins with the exact required quantity of yarn for each color. Apart from minimizing yarn wastage, the Smart Creel also prevents downtime for changing bobbins on the creel.
