This method of residue-free removal of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from exhaust air really comes into its own in complex applications such as painting and coating processes and a variety of printing processes. The regenerative thermal oxidizers provided by our Venjakob Umwelttechnik company have established themselves as state-of-the-art solutions for a whole host of end customers, from medium-sized companies to global players, as well as OEMs.
A variety of RTO designs offer benefits, especially when space is limited
The regenerative thermal oxidizers provided by our Venjakob Umwelttechnik company are available as the traditional vertical model as well as in a horizontal design with a significantly reduced height. We also offer compact system solutions for smaller volumes of air that can be fully preassembled at the factory if desired (plug and play). A model is available with separate heat exchanger chambers for a high concentration of pollutants.
How regenerative thermal oxidizers work
The polluted exhaust air is alternately guided through three chambers equipped with ceramic thermal energy storage elements. The polluted air is preheated to just below the required oxidation temperature of over 800°C inside the inlet chamber. The auxiliary burner in the incineration chamber, which is positioned centrally above the chambers, thus requires very little additional fuel. In many cases, the energy content of the air pollutants that need to be removed is alone sufficient to achieve autothermal operation without any additional fuel.
