The newly developed Transmission Control Unit (TCU) for wet 6-speed transmissions features an outstanding technology developed by Continental. At first the Bare-Die High-Density Interconnect (BD-HDI) substrate technology which is a development especially for the use in integrated TCU. The BD-HDI Technology is a special organic substrate technology for interconnect devices which allows complex controls for micro and power electronics with high current on only one interconnect device. Furthermore, this TCU is able to control the drive clutches, the engine disconnect clutch, gear shift actuators as well as an electric oil pump.In order to realize a high functional density, this TCU also includes a sensor cluster which is directly mounted on the control unit. This enables short connections to the electronics.
