Description

Dangerous goods packaging must meet strict regulations for a reason: When hazardous liquids create dangerous overpressure or even leak, they could harm end users and the environment. GORE Packaging Vents for industrial chemicals and cleaners use roll-off-optimized GORE™ ePTFE membranes to enable airflow and prevent packaging deformations for even the most highly concentrated chemicals. Because of potential decomposition, some chemicals need to breathe, especially the hazardous formulations — like hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid and sodium hypochlorite — found in industrial chemicals and cleaners. To ensure these potentially dangerous materials can breathe, their containers need to be ventilated. Without the appropriate venting solutions, containers could collapse, bulge or even burst. When containers are exposed to changes in altitude or temperature, the process accelerates. These deformations could result in leaks, creating great risks for end users and the environment. Deformations could also impact brand image and profits by ruining labels, affecting customer relationships, and causing expenses to pile up. GORE Packaging Vents minimize these risks by continuously maintaining the integrity of drums and containers — and consistently passing the rigid testing requirements of the DOT and ADR. Our vents are suited for a range of chemicals and applications.
