In addition to the angular steps per revolution, multiturn encoders also record several revolutions. An internal reduction gear is connected to the drive shaft, through which the number of revolutions is recorded. Alternatively, this can also be determined electronically.
The measured value for multiturn encoders is made up of the angular position and the number of revolutions. The recorded measured value is also calculated and, depending on the interface, output via different interface modules. The interfaces available here are: SSI, Canopen, CAN SAE J1939, RS485, Profibus, Profinet, Ethercat, Biss-C.
