Overcoat with Watco Epoxicote High Build Seals porous concrete to prevent bubbling in new paint Watco Epoxicote High Build Primer is specially designed for use with Watco Epoxicote High Build. Epoxicote High Build is a high performance 100% solids epoxy resin coating, which benefits from the use of this primer on bare concrete surfaces. Use the primer on hard, smooth, power floated concrete which would otherwise reject a paint coating. This eliminates the need for grinding or costly shot blasting. Also use on weaker, porous bare concrete surfaces. If a high build coating such as Watco Epoxicote High Build is applied to a porous unsealed concrete surface, air can become trapped in the coating during application and cure leading to bubbles in the finished floor. This primer prevents this from happening. Flush with clean water and allow the surface to dry. If residual damp remains this is acceptable as Epoxicote High Build Primer is breathable. New concrete – should be left for four weeks to dry in the summer and six in the winter. Should surface laitance be present, prepare the floor using Watco Etch & Clean. Flush with clean water and allow the surface to dry.
