Calcium and magnesium in the cationic ion class are the most important factors determining water hardness when in solution. Hard water is difficult to repair in households, such as plumbing and water washing machines. One of the most effective ways to overcome these problems is by using the ion exchange method. Calcium and magnesium ions are replaced by water sodium ions. Thus, the water softening process can be performed with the cationic resin. The tampon material of the softening unit can be applied as optional FRP or is produced from AISI 304-316 stainless steel. The automation of the water softening unit can be grouped under 3 main headings.
Time Controlled
As a time period, the regeneration process is automatically performed on the desired day of the week without any intervention at the desired time.
Flow Controlled
It automatically regenerates the unit when it reaches the amount of regeneration previously programmed or set by measuring the amount of water passing through a meter on the unit.
Hardness Measurement Control
These types of water softening devices, controlled by a central control panel, continuously measure the water hardness value and automatically regenerate the unit when it exceeds the desired hardness value due to the previously set program. Regeneration of water softening units is accomplished using salt.
