Sand filter is one of the water treatment units aiming to keep the suspended solids in the water and to eliminate the physical pollution from the water such as turbidity and sediment. The sand filter holds the coarse particles in the raw water thanks to the anthracite in it. The quartz sands in the lower layer, on the other hand, provide the hold of fine solids and sediments in the raw water and an effective filtration with 20 micron precision is provided. In addition, as it decrease the physical pollution load, it prevents the equipment used in the system occlude and increases system's lifespan.
