Safety edges are sensors consisting of an external rubber profile with a hollow chamber. Inside them, an internal element composed of two conductive parts performs the function of a switch.
Possible applications of sensing edges include:
• door and/or window leafs;
• gate leafs;
• guillotine and/or tilting shutters;
• driveways;
• hand guards.
The pressure exerted on the external surface by a body that hinders the automatic movement, such as a hand or a foot, causes the two conductive elements to come into contact.
The signal produced, detected and processed by an electronic control unit, determines the blocking of moving elements or the activation of an alarm signal.
WIDE Automation sensitive edges are available in different shapes and profiles to meet customer application requirements.
The new coextruded edge allows you to create your own custom configuration in do-it-yourself mode.
Our sensitive safety edges are produced according to the technical standards required to meet the needs of safety and health and are passive entities.
To perform the safety function for which they are designed, sensitive mats need control apparatus of appropriate class.
