Electrically isolated accelerometer with extended EMI performance, superior performance down to 0.1 Hz, high sensitivity 500 mV/g, ±5% sensitivity tolerance, top exit 4-pin M12 connector, M8 integral mounting stud
Wilcoxon’s HV series accelerometers are designed for demanding applications requiring high electrical isolation between the sensor and machine. HV vibration sensors can withstand arcing between the sensor base and its internal electronics to levels as high as 6,000 volts. The accelerometers offer improved EMI resistance in areas where high electromagnetic interference occurs, such as vibration monitoring of wind turbines, railway systems and other high-voltage generators. Improvements in EFT and ESD resistance improve survivability during extreme transient events.
• Ultra low frequency (0.1 Hz)
• Rapid shock recovery
• High EMI resistance
• Case-base isolation min 6 kV
• Ideal for power generation applications
HV series vibration sensors use a material with high electrical resistance and high breakdown voltage, which provides the necessary electrical insulation between the mounting surface and the accelerometer’s case and connector. The sensor casings are a ceramic material much like the type used for insulators on high voltage power lines. Inside the high voltage ceramic outer case, which serves as an isolator, the internal accelerometer is housed in a stainless steel case, providing additional support to the ceramic structure. Internal potting adds further isolation and improves the frequency response of the accelerometer, making it comparable to standard accelerometers.
