Description

These direct current motors with explosion protection in a flameproof enclosure (ignition protection class "d") are approved in accordance with Directive 94/9/EC for areas with an explosive atmosphere. This product line can be used in Zone 1 and Zone 2 of equipment category 2G. The motor is cooled via the surface with an axial fan i.e. dependent upon the motor speed (IC 411) or independent of the motor speed (IC 416). Sample applications: - Power stations - Offshore facilities - Chemical industry - Gas distribution plants - Gas expansion plants - Gas compressor stations - Energy production Areas of application: The direct current motors with explosion protection using ignition protection type "d" with cooling type IC 411 or IC 416 may be deployed in the following areas with an explosive atmosphere: Frame sizes 96 to 2230 II 2G Ex d(e) IIA T3 T6 Gb; ATEX Frame sizes 96 to 2230 II 2G Ex d(e) IIB T3 T6 Gb; ATEX Frame sizes 96 to 2230 II 2G Ex d(e) IIC T3 T6 Gb; ATEX Frame sizes 315.31 to 315.44 II 2G Ex d IIA T3 T6 Gb; ATEX Frame sizes 315.31 to 315.44 II 2G Ex d IIB T3 T6 Gb; ATEX Depending on the specific use, the drives can be equipped with brake, engine speed sensor or gearbox as well as various monitoring devices.
