Float Sink Tank Introduction
A sink-float tank is often used in a plastic recycling line as a washing machine.
With paddles rotating at the water level, in-feed materials scramble and rinse in the tank. Mingled materials are scattered apart and got wet.
A majority of contaminants can be eliminated when the material goes through the ups-and-downs of rotating paddles. Contaminants sink and then are collected by an auger at the bottom of the water tank. Another auger picks up the contaminants from the centre and discards them. Both augers’ conveying speed is slow yet adequate to deliver all the contaminants.
Besides filling with water, adding detergents to the sink-float tank enhances washing ability. In some applications, adding salt is necessary to adjust the fluid density in order to separate target material like PET flakes(high density) from PP/PE caps and labels(low density).
