Introduction
Ultrasonic sensor is a kind of sensor developed by using the characteristics of ultrasonic wave. Ultrasonic wave is a kind of mechanical wave whose vibration frequency is higher than sound wave. It is generated by the vibration of energy exchange wafer under the excitation of voltage. It has the characteristics of high frequency, short wavelength, small diffraction phenomenon, especially good directivity, and can become a ray and directional propagation. Ultrasonic on liquid, solid penetration ability is very great, especially in the sunlight opaque solid, it can penetrate the depth of dozens of meters. Ultrasonic waves will produce significant reflections when they encounter impurities or interfaces, and Doppler effects when they encounter moving objects.
Principle
The ultrasonic distance sensor transmits the ultrasonic pulse to the measured object, and then returns the echo formed by the measured object to the receiving sensor, so as to obtain the time difference between the transmitting and receiving, and then the distance between the transducer and the measured medium surface can be obtained according to the sound speed in the medium. So we can calculate the distance between the transducer and the reflector of the medium D=C*t/2, divided by 2 because the ultrasonic wave travels twice the distance between the transducer and the medium when it is transmitted and received.
