ZIRCAR Ceramics’ Alumina-Silica Bulk Fibers are high-purity alumina-silica fibers (RCF) exhibiting high dimensional stability in industrial applications with temperatures as high as 1260°C (2300°F). ZIRCAR Ceramics’ Alumina-Silica Bulk Fiber is a high-purity alumina-silica fiber exhibiting high dimensional stability in industrial applications with temperatures as high as 1260°C (2300°F). These fibers also exhibit light weight, low thermal conductivity, low thermal mass and immunity to thermal shock. They offer excellent chemical stability and resistance to attack from most corrosive agents (excluding hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and strong alkalis). These fibers contain no organics or chemically-combined-water. Two varieties are offered: ASBF is a long bulk fiber useful as feedstock for a number of manufacturing processes as well as bulk packing and fill. ASBF-1 is specially processed for use in vacuum-forming of rigid shapes. It is generally free of unfiberized “shot” and shorter than ASBF.
