In the field of biomaterials, mechanical test is needed to be performed in a temperature controlled fluid bath, to reflect the physiological conditions of the body. Stents made of Nitinol have to be tested in a temperature controlled place as the material displays different characteristics when at room temperature. They are suitable for servohydraulic and static testing machines. They can be used in ethyl alcohol as well as saline solutions. The container can be moved axially to ensure clamping of the specimen when not in a liquid medium. Many specimen grips or test fixtures can be connected to the mounting studs internally located. It can be quickly dismantled for easy cleaning. Disinfection is also possible in autoclave at up to 120 °C
