General introduction

Through over 50 years’ adherence to innovation and quality, CRRC Zhuzhou Electric CO., Ltd has evolved from a traction motor workshop of Tianxin Locomotive under the Ministry of Railway in 1961 to a primary subsidiary of CSR Group in 2010. Following the merger of CSR and CNR in 2015, our company is listed as one of the top 10 among CRRC’s 40 primary subsidiaries. Headquartered in Zhuzhou, the railway transportation hub of China, our company enjoys great momentum of development at home and abroad by establishing 5 manufacturing bases in Zhuzhou, Inner Mongolia in north China, Jiangsu in east China, Chengdu in southeast China and Guangzhou in south China to radiate all major markets in China. Up to now we have 4200 employees and the sales revenue soars up to 6.54 billion RMB in 2015.

Business scope

Our company is mainly engaged in three business activities, railway traction motors and transformers, wind power generators and industrial electric motors.

We are a pioneering company in developing and manufacturing railway traction motor and transformer in China, independently designed and manufactured the first DC traction motor and corresponding transformer in China and played a key role in electric locomotive conversion from DC to AC. What’s more amazing is CRH380 A with our motor and transformer created the highest trial speed of 486.1 km/h in the world in 2010. In 2014 we successfully developed traction motor and transformer for China’s standard EMU, which joined each other and achieved coupled running at the speed of 420 km/h for the first time in the world during the test on July 15th this year. With the sound design and rich operation experience our railway traction products have been exported to more than 40 countries and regions such as South Africa, Australia, Turkey and Malaysia.

As the largest wind power generator manufacturer in China, we have three product platforms, asynchronous, DFIG and PMG, covering 0.75 to 6 MW products. Up to now we have manufactured over 10 000 sets in total and they are exported to USA, Cuba and Germany etc. In 2015 we independently developed and manufactured 5 MW permanent magnet synchronous wind power generator for Adwen in Europe, which was china’s megawatt level wind power generator entering EU market for the first time.

Our company is a specialized R&D base for national high-efficiency and energy-saving motor, covering such strategically emerging industry as national defense design, energy saving and environment protection, electric vehicles, high-end equipment manufacturing. The sales revenue kept a CAGR (Compound annual growth rate) of 10%-20%. And the products provide drive for compressor, blower, pump and crusher etc. and are widely applied to various industries such as chemistry, machinery, mining, cement and electricity industry.

Design, manufacturing, quality control and after-sales

As a global leader in railway products, we give top priority to product innovation and personnel creativity. At present we have 791 R&D and technical engineers. In product design process we adopt such advanced methods as electromagnetic calculation, 3-D UG design, ANSOFT, FLUENT, ANSYS finite element calculation and analysis to ensure accurate and advanced product design.

In manufacturing process the spirit of craftsmanship is fully advocated and executed in manufacturing process. Besides we are promoting lean production to upgrade product quality by means of superior manufacturing equipment, whole-process standard operation and 5S management in workshop.

For quality control we strictly implement ISO 9001,18000, and 14000, EN 15085 and introduce railway standard IRIS in quality assurance to ensure zero error, zero defect and zero default. On top of that we set up Hunan railway traction motor engineering technology research center, national wind power technology research center motor lab, national test station, key national lab for electric insulation equipment and post doctorate work station, making it possible to undertake multi-level test verification such as basic technology research, product development process verification, product processing research and verification, product routine test, type test, system combination and operation evaluation.
