Magnescale Co., Ltd. is a leading global manufacturer of high-precision length measuring systems, angle measuring systems and probes, headquartered in Japan. Magnescale was founded in 1969 as Sony Magnescale and has been part of the DMGMORI Group since 2010.

MAGNESCALE™, DIGIRULER™, SmartSCALE™ and DIGITAL GAUGE™ are measuring systems with a magnetic operating principle. This makes them extremely insensitive to contamination while maintaining high accuracy and reliability. These length and angle measuring systems are therefore typically used for speed and position control in machine tools. Due to their robustness, our probes are mainly used for quality control in assembly and production lines of series production, e.g. in the automotive industry.

LASERSCALE™ measuring systems work with a laser interferometric operating principle, which generates a very high signal quality. This allows extremely high resolutions down to the single-digit picometer range to be achieved. These measurement systems are mainly used in semiconductor production and measuring machines.

Outside Japan, Magnescale Co., Ltd. has sales companies in Germany (Wernau, near Stuttgart) and in the USA (Irvine, California) and is also supported by a large network of distributors and dealers worldwide.
